US navy withdraws vessels from Bahrain base amid Iran tensions
Satellite images reveal fleet repositioning as fears grow of potential conflict between Washington and Tehran
MANAMA, Bahrain (MNTV) — Satellite imagery indicates that the US Navy has removed all vessels from its base in Bahrain, home to the headquarters of the United States Fifth Fleet, as tensions with Iran continue to escalate.
According to reports citing US officials, the repositioning is linked to concerns that the Bahrain base could become a potential target if hostilities erupt between Washington and Tehran. A similar withdrawal was carried out in June following strikes on nuclear facilities in the region.
Israeli military assessments suggest that the United States may be nearing a decisive stage regarding a possible strike on Iran, with senior officials expected to receive minimal advance notice should military action proceed.
Diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with US-Iran talks scheduled to resume in Geneva under Omani mediation. Despite these negotiations, US warnings of potential military action remain in place.
The United States currently maintains a substantial military presence across the Middle East, including aircraft carriers, destroyers, F-22 fighter jets deployed to Israel, and advanced electronic warfare platforms such as the EC-130H Compass Call aircraft.
A retired senior officer familiar with regional operations indicated that the likelihood of US military action appears to be increasing, suggesting that questions now center on the timing, scale, and nature of any potential strike.
