Qatari premier meets Hamas delegation, urges halt to Israeli aggression in Gaza
Meeting in Doha follows Israeli strike on Gaza City police station that killed nine Palestinians
DOHA (MNTV) — Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Wednesday called for an end to Israel’s escalating attacks on Gaza, urging the international community to take stronger action to stop the violence.
Sheikh Mohammed made the appeal during a meeting in Doha with a Hamas delegation headed by the group’s political chief, Khalil al-Hayya.
The meeting came hours after an Israeli airstrike on a police station in Gaza City killed nine Palestinians, including police officers, according to local medical sources.
The two sides discussed developments in Gaza and the wider occupied Palestinian territories, according to a statement from Qatar’s Foreign Ministry.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Hamas’ decision to accept a roadmap for completing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
He said he hoped the move would help end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and advance their aspirations for security and stability.
The Qatari premier also stressed the need for international efforts to prevent further Israeli escalation and protect Palestinians in the besieged territory.
