WASHINGTON (MNTV) – Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Hakeem Jeffries and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won reelection to the US House of Representatives on Tuesday, according to Associated Press projections.
Tlaib defeated Republican challenger James D. Hooper in Michigan, while Jeffries retained his seat in New York’s 8th Congressional District, beating Lewis Mizrahi.
Ocasio-Cortez also secured another term, defeating Diamant Hysenaj in the state’s 14th Congressional District.
The three lawmakers were among several incumbent Democrats projected to retain their seats as ballots continued to be counted nationwide in the midterm elections.
All 435 seats in the House of Representatives are being contested, with either party needing at least 218 to secure a majority.
