Morocco highlights Lockheed Martin partnership at World Defense Show in Riyadh

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — Morocco’s partnership with US defense company Lockheed Martin was highlighted at the World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh, as Moroccan officials underscored longstanding cooperation in airpower, manufacturing and security capabilities.

Abdellatif Loudiyi, Morocco’s minister delegate in charge of National Defense Administration, is attending the defense exhibition, which runs from Feb. 8 to 12 and features major international and regional defense and security companies.

During his visit to Lockheed Martin’s exhibition stand, the company said its decades-long partnership with Morocco has focused on airpower, local supply chain integration, and maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities, according to The North Africa Post.

Lockheed Martin said the strategic partnership is driven by shared goals in innovation, security and economic development, with Moroccan suppliers integrated into the company’s global supply chain to increase local content and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities.

The partnership began in 1974 with the delivery of the first C-130H Hercules tactical transport aircraft to the Royal Moroccan Air Force. 

Since then, Lockheed Martin has supplied Morocco with a range of advanced defense systems, including F-16 fighter jets, Sikorsky helicopters, radar systems, and integrated air and missile defense technologies.

The World Defense Show is hosting representatives from leading defense firms and security companies from around the world, highlighting emerging technologies and partnerships in the global defense sector.
