Black Woman in Toronto Shares Video of Racist Confrontation

A disturbing video of a racist encounter in Etobicoke is causing outrage among Torontonians. Abi, a Black woman, reported that she had just parked in a customer lot when an older white man aggressively approached her, accusing her of parking illegally.

Despite her calm explanation that she was a customer and that there was a visible sign indicating she could park there, the man began hurling racist slurs, asking, “Why do you f**king Blacks have a mouth on you?” before walking away.

Visibly shaken, Abi recorded the entire incident on video. Although she chose not to file a police report, she posted the video online to raise awareness about the incident. “Just by looking at my face and the color of my skin, he felt justified in dehumanizing me,” she explained.

The footage has since gone viral, sparking outrage among residents, some of whom are calling for decisive action against hate-fueled harassment. Abi hopes her story will lead to reflection: “I wish for his heart to soften—and for no one else to be treated this way again.”
