Trump says he is disappointed Zelenskyy has not read US peace plan
US President said he is “a little bit disappointed” that Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has not personally read a new American peace proposal
WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) — US President Donald Trump said he is “a little bit disappointed” that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not personally read a new American peace proposal aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said Russia is “fine” with the plan, while Zelenskyy’s position remains unclear, despite what he described as support from the Ukrainian leader’s team.
Trump rebuked Zelenskyy for not reviewing the proposal himself, saying Moscow has already signaled acceptance. His remarks followed a week of high-level talks between US envoys and officials from both Russia and Ukraine.
The comments came shortly after Zelenskyy said he had held what he called “substantive” discussions with American officials.
The Ukrainian president confirmed a phone call with US envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump adviser Jared Kushner after their consultations with a Ukrainian delegation in Florida.
Zelenskyy said the talks covered “key points” to end the conflict and that he is awaiting a detailed report from his negotiators.
Witkoff and Kushner earlier met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow for negotiations described by a Kremlin aide as “constructive, very useful, and informative.”
The shuttle diplomacy highlights Washington’s intensified efforts to broker an end to the prolonged war in Eastern Europe.
While Trump suggested Russian consent and team-level Ukrainian support, Zelenskyy’s personal review and approval remain unresolved. The content of the US peace proposal has not been made public, leaving uncertainty over its impact on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
