Trump hails strikes on Iran, calls them ‘spectacular military success’
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed “very successful” strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan
WASHINGTON, D.C. (MNTV) — U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed “very successful” strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, claiming the sites were “completely and totally obliterated.”
He announced on social media that all U.S. planes had exited Iranian airspace, adding, “Iran must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier.”
Trump described the operation as a “spectacular military success” and warned that “many targets” remained if peace was not swiftly achieved. Framing the strikes as a continuation of his policy, Trump likened the attack to the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani during his first term.
The U.S. strikes were coordinated with Israel, with Trump congratulating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and stating that the two countries had “worked as a team” to confront the “horrible threat” to Israel.
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization condemned the attacks as a “barbaric act” that violated international law, particularly the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The organization accused the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of complicity through its “indifference.”
In a statement, Iranian officials vowed to continue their nuclear development, calling it a “national industry built on the blood of nuclear martyrs.” The IRNA news agency cited an official claiming there were no radioactive materials at the bombed sites, suggesting that enriched uranium may have been removed beforehand.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called the strikes a “dangerous escalation,” warning of catastrophic consequences for civilians and regional stability. In a statement on social media, he urged de-escalation, adherence to international law, and a return to diplomacy.
“There is no military solution,” Guterres wrote. “The only path forward is diplomacy. The only hope is peace.”
Domestically, U.S. lawmakers criticized Trump’s actions.
Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) called for an emergency congressional session to vote on a War Powers Resolution aimed at preventing unilateral military action. “Trump struck Iran without any authorization of Congress,” Khanna said.
“We need to ensure America is not dragged into another endless Middle East war.”
