Syria’s Hama opens Aswaq al-Kheir Ramadan market
Festival brings discounted essentials, clothing and household goods together, easing shopping pressures for families ahead of holy month
HAMA, Syria (MNTV) — Authorities in Syria’s central city of Hama launched the “Aswaq al-Kheir” market festival, an initiative aimed at helping residents prepare for Ramadan through reduced prices and consolidated shopping options.
The market, hosted at the historic Khan Rustum Pasha, brings together around 80 national companies offering discounts of up to 20 percent on a wide range of goods, including food items, cleaning products, clothing, footwear and household necessities.
The event is organized by the Hama Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Jusoor Company for Festivals and Conferences.
Mohammad Al-Bushi, director of Jusoor, said participating firms are providing special offers, promotional discounts and gifts to attract shoppers.
He noted that the festival is designed to help citizens secure Ramadan supplies at prices lower than those typically found in local markets.
Business representatives said consumer turnout was strong from the first hours of the opening, pointing to high demand for essential goods offered at reduced prices while maintaining quality standards.
Visitors welcomed the initiative, saying the market allows families to purchase most of their Ramadan needs in one location, saving both time and money during a period of increased household spending.
The “Aswaq al-Kheir” festival will continue until the 14th of the month, with daily access for residents seeking affordable goods ahead of the holy month.
