Israeli forces demolish Palestinian home during Qalqilya raid
Three residents suffered tear gas exposure as military forces forcibly evacuated homeowner and damaged public infrastructure in occupied West Bank
RAMALLAH, Palestine (MNTV) — Israeli forces expelled a Palestinian man from his home and demolished the property during a military raid in Qalqilya, in the occupied West Bank.
The illegal action intensifies the pressure on Palestinian residents facing home demolitions and displacement. The operation targeted the home of Naim Abu Shihab in the al-Naqqar neighborhood.
According to local sources, Israeli troops entered the area with two bulldozers and ordered Abu Shihab to leave before razing his house, claiming it lacked a building permit.
Israeli forces also opened fire during confrontations and fired tear gas along al-Malaab Street, while bulldozers damaged sidewalks in the city’s central market area.
The Palestine Red Crescent said its emergency crews treated three people for tear gas exposure. No gunshot injuries were reported in the incident.
The demolition reflects a broader pattern of restrictions on Palestinian construction and the destruction of homes in territory under Israeli occupation. For affected families, such operations can mean the sudden loss of shelter, property and the security associated with a permanent home.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported separately that it documented 13 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers targeting Palestinian farmers and their land across four West Bank governorates.
Since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza in October 2023, the occupied West Bank has experienced escalating military raids, arrests, home demolitions, attacks on agricultural land and displacement, alongside the expansion of Israeli settlements considered illegal under international law.
