Iraq begins construction of tallest twin towers in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq (MNTV) — Iraq has launched construction on its tallest twin skyscrapers in the capital’s Al-Masbah district, marking a significant milestone in the country’s urban development efforts. 

The 50-story towers are set to reshape Baghdad’s skyline, combining luxury residential and hospitality amenities in a landmark riverside project, according to Iraqi News.

According to local officials and developers, foundational work — including the installation and pouring of deep concrete piles — is currently underway. 

The twin towers are being constructed adjacent to the upscale Dijlah Village complex, with sweeping views of the Tigris River.

What sets the project apart is its architectural design: two parallel 50-story towers connected at the top by dual sky bridges. 

The development will also include a private corniche running along the riverbank, designed to offer a pedestrian-friendly leisure space for residents and visitors.

Planned as a high-end mixed-use complex, the project will feature luxury apartments, hotel residences, and an array of modern amenities. 

These include cafes and restaurants overlooking the Tigris, a fully equipped health and sports club, indoor swimming facilities, and a multi-level car park.

Developers say the twin tower project is poised to become one of Baghdad’s most iconic structures, contributing to the capital’s efforts to attract investment, boost tourism, and modernize its infrastructure.

Once completed, the towers will stand as the tallest twin structures in Iraq, reflecting a broader push by both public and private sectors to revitalize the city’s built environment after years of stagnation due to conflict and economic challenges.

Construction is expected to progress over the coming months, with further details on project timelines and occupancy schedules to be announced by developers at a later stage.
