Iranian president says country holds no hostility toward American people
Pezeshkian blames Israel for drawing United States into conflict while urging engagement over confrontation
WASHINGTON (MNTV) — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the American public in an open letter, asserting that Iran harbors no hostility toward ordinary Americans and condemning Israel for pulling the United States into a destructive regional war.
In his message, Pezeshkian criticized portrayals of Iran as a threat, calling such narratives inconsistent with historical record and observable reality.
He emphasized that both confrontation and dialogue remain possible, warning that continued hostilities would impose heavy costs and yield little gain.
“Today, the world stands at a crossroads. Persisting with confrontation is more futile and costly than ever,” Pezeshkian wrote.
“The choice between confrontation and engagement is real and consequential; its outcome will shape the future for generations. Iran has endured countless aggressors throughout its long history, leaving only tarnished names behind, while the nation remains resilient, dignified, and proud.”
The Iranian leader did not address last week’s ceasefire offer from President Trump, instead placing responsibility for the ongoing conflict squarely on Israel.
He accused the United States of acting as Israel’s proxy, warning that American involvement has been shaped and manipulated by Tel Aviv.
“Is it not the case that America has entered this aggression as a proxy for Israel, influenced and manipulated by that regime?” Pezeshkian asked, highlighting what he described as the unequal and externally driven nature of the current hostilities.
