FBI foils suspected terrorist plot in Michigan
FBI says it has foiled a “potential terrorist attack” in Michigan after tracking online communications linked to an alleged firearms plot
WASHINGTON (MNTV) — The FBI says it has foiled a “potential terrorist attack” in the US state of Michigan after tracking online communications linked to an alleged firearms plot.
FBI Director Kash Patel said Friday that agents, working with local and federal partners, “stopped a potential terrorist attack in Michigan before it could unfold.”
According to ABC News, the investigation began after undercover agents intercepted online chats suggesting a possible link to a foreign terror group.
Authorities have arrested at least two suspects and detained three others for questioning.
The individuals are reportedly between 16 and 20 years old.
Officials have not released further details but said there is currently no threat to public safety.
