Fourth edition of Turkish Cuisine Week begins
Events across 81 provinces and global missions highlight traditional dishes and cultural values of Turkish gastronomy
ANKARA, Türkiye (MNTV) — Türkiye has launched the fourth edition of Turkish Cuisine Week, a nationwide and international celebration aimed at honoring the country’s centuries-old culinary traditions.
Taking place from May 21 to 27, 2025, the event puts a spotlight on regional recipes, sustainability, and the enduring values of Turkish hospitality.
Held annually since 2022, Turkish Cuisine Week seeks to elevate Türkiye’s rich gastronomic culture on the global stage.
This year’s program emphasizes traditional dishes from across Anatolia, with a focus on preserving authenticity while encouraging sustainable and healthy modern interpretations.
“Turkish cuisine is more than food; it is a reflection of our heritage, geography, and multicultural fabric,” said event organizers, highlighting the influence of varied landscapes and communities that have shaped local dishes from Istanbul to remote Anatolian villages.
Throughout the week, all 81 provinces in Türkiye will host cultural and culinary events that spotlight local ingredients and recipes unique to each region.
From olive oil-based Aegean dishes to hearty Southeastern fare, the events aim to showcase the diversity and depth of Turkish cuisine.
Turkish diplomatic missions abroad are also joining the celebration by organizing tasting events, cooking demonstrations, and cultural presentations to introduce global audiences to Türkiye’s culinary treasures.
Prominent chefs will curate special menus that interpret classic dishes while maintaining their traditional roots.
“Turkish Cuisine Week is a journey through our history, our values, and our kitchens,” said a spokesperson from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. “It is a way to bring cultures together, one shared meal at a time.”
Beyond showcasing food, the week-long celebration emphasizes values such as sustainability, seasonality, and hospitality.
Workshops and discussions will explore how traditional Turkish dishes can remain relevant in today’s globalized food scene while staying faithful to their origins.
The week will conclude with a grand event at Cappadocia University, bringing together chefs, cultural ambassadors, and food enthusiasts to reflect on Türkiye’s culinary journey.
The closing ceremony will celebrate not only the flavors of Turkish cuisine but also the cultural dialogue it inspires around the world.
