Trump extends Iran ceasefire at Pakistan’s request, citing fractured Iranian government
President Donald Trump has announced that he is extending the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely
WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – President Donald Trump has announced that he is extending the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely, holding off on renewed military strikes while Pakistani mediators work to obtain a unified proposal from Tehran’s fragmented leadership.
In a statement, Trump said he had acted at the personal request of Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, acknowledging that the Iranian government is “seriously fractured.”
He directed the U.S. military to maintain the naval blockade and remain on full combat readiness while the extension holds.
“I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other,” Trump said.

The announcement came as the original two-week Pakistan-brokered ceasefire was nearing expiration, with talks in Islamabad having ended without agreement.
Trump’s decision to extend rather than resume strikes represents a significant diplomatic intervention by Islamabad, whose army chief and prime minister appear to have persuaded Washington to give Iran additional time to present a coherent negotiating position.
