Palestinian man killed, child hurt by Israeli fire in Gaza despite ceasefire
Israel's ceasefire violations reported in eastern Gaza City and western Khan Younis amid ongoing truce
GAZA, Palestine (MNTV) — A Palestinian man was killed and a child injured by Israeli gunfire in Gaza, despite the ceasefire that has been in place since Oct. 10, medical sources and witnesses said.
The man, identified as Mohammed Khaled Abed, was shot in the head in the al-Zarqa area of the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, an area that witnesses said had been evacuated earlier under the terms of the truce.
In a separate incident, a young girl, Badria Issam Saqr, was wounded by Israeli fire in the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to local sources.
Palestinians and independent observers have accused Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire, which has halted a two-year conflict that has killed more than 71,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured nearly 171,400 others since October 2023.
Palestinian Health Ministry reported that at least 484 people have been killed and 1,321 others injured since the fragile truce began.
