Pakistan unveils indigenous anti-drone jamming gun ‘Sufra’
Pakistan on Wednesday unveiled an indigenously developed anti-drone jamming gun capable of neutralizing “kamikaze” drones
KARACHI, Pakistan (MNTV) — Pakistan on Wednesday unveiled an indigenously developed anti-drone jamming gun capable of neutralizing “kamikaze” drones, at the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC) in Karachi, The News International reported.
The “Sufra” device, produced at the National Electronics Complex, can disable hostile drones and their controllers at distances up to 1.5 kilometers, said company manager Hamza Khalid.
Demonstrators said the gun successfully neutralized kamikaze-style drones during the display.
Khalid said the Sufra operates within an adjustable 30-degree cone and can either seize control of an incoming drone or render both the drone and its remote inoperable.
He noted that it was designed to cope with saturation attacks and “neutralize them regardless of the number of hostile drones.”
Officials said the Sufra could be installed along national borders to counter cross-border threats or deployed at major public events where security risks are high.
