Israeli strikes kill 11 in Gaza, including Jabalia police chief
Done hit police post ringed by tents sheltering displaced families, killing Col. Mohammed Marwan Salem and several officers, Palestinian officials say
GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) — Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip killed at least 11 Palestinians on Tuesday, among them the director of the police station in Jabalia refugee camp and several of his officers, Palestinian officials said — the latest deaths in a ceasefire Israel has never stopped violating.
The Gaza Interior Ministry said Col. Mohammed Marwan Salem, who headed the Jabalia camp police station, was killed along with several officers and staff when an Israeli strike hit a police post in the area. Witnesses said the drone struck a position surrounded by tents sheltering displaced Palestinians and temporary evacuation centers.
Seven bodies, including that of a woman, were taken to Al-Shifa Medical Complex and the American field hospital after a strike near Shadia School in the Al-Falouja area, west of Jabalia camp, a medical source said. Two more Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces shelled a tent southwest of Gaza City.
Earlier on Tuesday, an Israeli drone hit a tent housing displaced people near the Tayba Towers area west of Khan Younis, in the south, killing one person and wounding three.
The victim had not been identified and the condition of the wounded was not known. In Rafah, the same source said a child, Moataz Abu Shaar, was shot dead by Israeli troops in Al-Mawasi.
The pattern in a single day is the story: a police post, a school, tents, a child. The ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025 has not held anywhere.
Israeli attacks since that ceasefire began have killed 1,108 Palestinians and wounded 3,578 as of Monday, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Since the start of Israel’s genocide on Oct. 8, 2023, the ministry has recorded more than 73,000 Palestinians killed and over 173,000 wounded. Palestinian authorities say roughly 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.
