Israeli forces kill Palestinian teenager during West Bank raid
Palestinian officials say 16-year-old shot in chest as settlers and Israeli troops carry out raid near Ramallah
RAMALLAH, Palestine (MNTV) — A Palestinian teenager was killed by Israeli fire in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, as violence by Israeli troops and settlers continues to intensify across Palestinian communities, reports AFP.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the victim as 16-year-old Yusef Ali Kaabnah, who was shot dead near the village of Jiljilya, north of Ramallah.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, the teenager was shot in the chest during a raid carried out by Israeli settlers accompanied by Israeli soldiers.
Medical teams said four other Palestinians were also wounded during the attack.
The Israeli military said it was reviewing the incident but did not immediately provide further details.
Palestinian officials and rights advocates have repeatedly accused Israeli forces and settlers of escalating deadly attacks in the occupied West Bank under the cover of military operations and expanding settler activity.
Violence in the territory has sharply increased since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, with frequent military raids, shootings and settler assaults targeting Palestinian towns and villages.
According to figures compiled by AFP from Palestinian Health Ministry data, at least 1,071 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops or settlers in the West Bank since the Gaza war began, including large numbers of civilians and minors.
Israeli official figures state that at least 46 Israelis, including soldiers and civilians, have been killed in Palestinian attacks or military-related incidents during the same period.
