Tanker struck by drone while exiting Strait of Hormuz, UK maritime agency says
UKMTO advised vessels to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity
TEHRAN (MNTV) — A tanker was hit by a drone as it made an outbound transit through the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said, in the latest incident to raise tensions in the strategic waterway.
The vessel sustained minor damage, and its crew were reported safe and accounted for with no environmental impact, the agency said in a warning notice issued Friday.
It did not identify the tanker or say who was responsible for the attack, which was reported at 1552 GMT Thursday.
UKMTO advised vessels to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.
