Iran boosts South Pars gas production by 5 million cubic meters per day
Three new wells operational; full infill drilling project to add 36 million cubic meters daily
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Gas production at Iran’s South Pars Gas Field has increased by five million cubic meters per day following the completion and commissioning of three new wells, officials announced on Tuesday.
Shobeir Nabavi, project director for infill drilling at South Pars, said the wells became operational this year, beginning March 21, 2025, contributing to the shared field’s overall output.
“With the completion of drilling and the operation of three wells in the current year, five million cubic meters have been added to the gas production of this shared field,” Nabavi stated.
He noted that progress on the infill drilling project continues steadily, aiming to further boost gas production.
“Given the progress in drilling other wells under this project, more wells are expected to come online in the coming months,” he added.
The infill drilling plan includes the construction of 35 new wells across 17 existing gas platforms. Upon completion and full operation, the project is expected to increase South Pars’ production capacity by 36 million cubic meters per day.
