WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – The United States Embassy in Lebanon has evacuated several personnel from Beirut via Rafic Hariri International Airport, according to Lebanese media, in a move described as a precautionary measure amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Lebanese private television channel LBCI, citing sources, reported the departure as a “precautionary step” in response to growing regional instability.
The US Embassy issued no statement clarifying the decision.
Iran and the United States are set to reconvene in Geneva on Thursday for a new round of nuclear talks, against a backdrop of an unprecedented U.S. military buildup in the Persian Gulf and a series of recent military drills conducted by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
President Trump has warned of military action against Iran if a deal is not reached within 10 to 15 days.
