Saudi-led coalition says it intercepted Houthi ballistic missile targeting Khamis Mushait
Coalition spokesman says missile was intercepted and destroyed over southwestern Saudi Arabia
RIYADH (MNTV) — The Saudi-led coalition said Tuesday it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by Yemen’s Houthi group toward southwestern Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said the missile was targeting Khamis Mushait, a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
Al-Maliki announced the interception in a statement posted on the U.S.-based social media platform X.
The coalition did not provide details about where the missile was intercepted, whether debris fell in populated areas or whether there were any casualties or damage.
The incident comes amid renewed tensions involving the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, with the coalition recently accusing the Yemeni group of carrying out attacks targeting Saudi territory.
The Houthis did not immediately comment on the coalition’s statement.
