US president warns Hamas of military action if it fails to return US bodies
US President Donald Trump has issued Hamas a 48-hour ultimatum to return the bodies of two American casualties
WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – US President Donald Trump has issued Hamas a 48-hour ultimatum to return the bodies of two American casualties, warning of military action if the demand is not met.
Trump said the group “should start quickly returning the bodies of deceased hostages,” adding that “otherwise other countries involved in this ‘great peace’ will take action.” He emphasized that he was “following this situation very closely” and would monitor Hamas’s actions over the next two days.
The president accused Hamas of failing to return recoverable casualties despite previous agreements, suggesting the delay might relate to ongoing disarmament talks.
When asked about the deployment of an international stabilization force to Gaza, Trump said it would happen “quite quickly,” though he did not provide a timeline. He added that “leaders are currently being selected” for the force, expressing optimism that the current ceasefire could represent “real peace” for the region.
The ultimatum comes amid the implementation of the US-brokered Gaza ceasefire that took effect earlier this month. Trump has described the agreement as a historic achievement while pressing all sides to honor their commitments, including the return of American casualties.
