Trump revokes Canada’s invitation to Gaza ‘Board of Peace’
US President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he is rescinding Canada's invitation to participate in the "Board of Peace"
WASHINGTON (MNTV) – U.S. President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he is rescinding Canada’s invitation to participate in the “Board of Peace,” an initiative designed to address international disputes beginning with the Gaza conflict.
“This Letter notifies you that the Board of Peace is revoking its invitation for Canada to participate in what will become the most distinguished assembly of world leaders ever formed,” Trump posted on Truth Social, directing his message to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
During remarks at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Tuesday, Carney expressed concern about the weakening of the U.S.-led rules-based global system and called on intermediate nations to expand their trade partnerships and bolster their economic security.
After Carney’s address, Trump criticized the Canadian leader Wednesday, suggesting Canada should express “gratitude” toward the United States.
Tensions between the two nations have intensified since Trump implemented tariffs on Canadian exports and subsequently suspended trade negotiations following the broadcast of an anti-tariff commercial in the United States.
