Qatar, Belarus explore veterinary vaccine collaboration to boost animal health security

DOHA, Qatar (MNTV) — Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Animal Wealth Department, held talks with a Belarusian veterinary delegation to enhance cooperation in preventing animal epidemics and developing veterinary vaccines and medicines.
The discussions aimed to exchange expertise and explore opportunities for localizing vaccine production to strengthen Qatar’s animal health security, according to Qatar Tribune.
The Belarusian team included veterinary specialists with expertise in vaccine innovation and pharmaceutical development.
The talks centered on exchanging scientific knowledge, sharing technological advancements in vaccine production, and assessing the potential for establishing local manufacturing capabilities within Qatar.
Officials from both sides stressed the importance of creating a long-term strategic partnership to reinforce national capacities in veterinary research and biopharmaceutical development.
Such collaboration, they noted, would contribute to enhanced animal health security and support sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
The initiative aligns with Qatar’s broader efforts to strengthen biosecurity, reduce dependence on imports, and invest in high-impact scientific sectors through international collaboration.
