Iran, Saudi Arabia plan to strengthen ties under Beijing Agreement
Tehran meeting focuses on bilateral cooperation, regional stability, and enhanced diplomatic engagement across multiple sectors
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) – Iran and Saudi Arabia held a high-level bilateral meeting in Tehran on Tuesday to discuss implementing the Beijing Agreement and advancing their diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation, according to Al Arabiya News.
The session, attended by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji, focused on reinforcing neighborly relations through adherence to international law, respect for sovereignty, and mutual security commitments.
Both sides emphasized expanding exchanges at governmental and institutional levels, including consular services, research, education, media, and cultural programs, noting the smooth facilitation of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in 2025.
China, represented by Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu, welcomed the meeting and reiterated its support for continued collaboration, highlighting its role in encouraging the implementation of the Beijing Agreement.
The two countries also discussed opportunities for reciprocal visits, dialogue on regional security, and cooperative initiatives in economic and political sectors.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to promoting regional peace and stability, supporting an inclusive political solution in Yemen under UN supervision, and calling for an immediate cessation of aggression in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.
