JENIN, PALESTINE – Israeli forces on Saturday conducted a large-scale raid of the northern West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp, targeting mainly the residence of Raed Hazem, accused of killing three Israelis in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening before he was shot and killed in nearby Jaffa nine hours later.
The Israeli army released a video that shows the Israeli security officers raiding the Hazem family house.
However, apparently members of the family were not in the house.
According to reports, the army took measurements of the house in preparation to demolish it as part of Israel’s collective punishment policy against the family and relatives of the attackers.
Quoting eyewitnesses, the Palestinian WAFA News Agency says “the Israeli occupation forces left the northern West Bank city of Jenin several hours after raiding it this morning but not before killing one Palestinian man and injuring 13 others.
Palestinians confronted the raiding forces, which opened machine gunfire at the Palestinians killing one and injuring many others, added the agency.
The Israeli army said that Palestinian gunmen allegedly opened fire at soldiers operating in Jenin and other nearby villages.
Islamic Jihad movement confirmed that the Palestinian youth killed by Israeli forces was a member of its armed wing, Saraya al-Quds Brigades.
