Iran, Uzbekistan ink cultural cooperation pact to boost heritage ties
National Library of Iran and Uzbekistan’s Islamic Civilization Center agree on cultural exchange and research collaboration
TASHKENT, Uzbekistan (MNTV) — Iran and Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand cultural cooperation, with the National Library and Archives of Iran and the Islamic Civilization Center of Uzbekistan formalizing the agreement in Tashkent.
The deal was signed by Gholamreza Amirkhani, head of Iran’s National Library and Archives, during his visit to Uzbekistan’s capital to attend the international forum “The Legacy of a Great Past–The Foundation of an Enlightened Future.”
According to the National Library’s Public Relations Department, the signing took place in the presence of international scholars and participants of the conference, which brought together more than 100 researchers and experts from 20 countries.
The Islamic Civilization Center, established by the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has become a key hub for cultural and scientific dialogue in Central Asia, focusing on preserving and promoting the intellectual and civilizational heritage of the Islamic world.
