Iran flatly denies striking UAE, threatens retaliation if attacks launched from Emirati soil
Spokesman calls Abu Dhabi's accusations 'baseless,' warns against hosting US and Israeli forces
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) – Iran’s military denied responsibility for recent missile and drone strikes reported against the United Arab Emirates, rejecting Abu Dhabi’s accusations and warning that any assault on Iran launched from UAE territory would be met with severe consequences.
A spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters told state broadcaster IRIB that no operations had been carried out against the UAE, stressing that any Iranian military action would be officially announced.
He dismissed the UAE Defense Ministry’s claims as entirely without basis and warned that should Iran be attacked from Emirati soil, the response would be “decisive and regret-inducing.”
He further accused the UAE of permitting U.S. and Israeli forces to operate from its territory, urging Abu Dhabi not to allow itself to serve as a platform for what he described as hostile powers.
The denial came as the UAE reported a second consecutive day of incoming fire. Emirati authorities said air defense systems had intercepted multiple waves of missiles, cruise missiles and drones launched from Iran, while an earlier attack had ignited a major fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, injuring three people.
Tensions across the Gulf have been severe since the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28, triggering Iranian retaliation and serious disruptions to Strait of Hormuz shipping.
A ceasefire brokered by Pakistan on April 8 has held in name, though talks in Islamabad failed to produce a lasting agreement and President Trump extended the truce without setting a firm deadline. The U.S. has maintained a naval blockade on Iranian maritime traffic since April 13.
