Iraqi archer Abdullah Saad claims silver at Asian Challenge Championship
Rising talent delivers strong performance ahead of World Championship in Incheon later this month
INCHEON, South Korea (MNTV) — Iraqi archer Abdullah Saad secured a silver medal at the Asian Challenge Championship for seniors, the Iraqi Olympic Committee announced on Saturday.
Competing in Incheon, South Korea, Saad showcased an exceptional performance against top archers from across Asia, according to the committee’s statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency.
Saad Al-Mashhadani, president of the Iraqi Archery Federation, praised the national team’s efforts, noting the high level of competition at the event and the sport’s growing prominence in Asia.
The Iraqi squad is now intensifying preparations for the upcoming World Championship, also set to be held in Incheon later this month. Federation officials said technical and administrative staff are working to ensure the athletes are in peak form.
The tournament has highlighted a new generation of promising archery talent in Asia, with Saad emerging as one of Iraq’s brightest prospects.
