Have You Ever Seen an “Art-Mosphere”?
Toronto’s ever-busy Mayor, Olivia Chow, is at it again. She is always looking for ways to add value to the city she proudly serves — Toronto! And we are fortunate for that.
On January 21, 2026, she inaugurated the newly renovated lower observation level of our city’s pride and joy, the CN Tower. One feature in this new space is sure to be a focal point for both local and international visitors — it’s called the “Artmosphere“! But before we dive into that, let’s provide some context on how this came to be.
Fans of the CN Tower will recall that the main observation deck was renovated in 2018, introducing floor-to-ceiling glass window walls that became a popular vantage point for visitors. In 2023, a project was launched to upgrade the lower observation level, costing $21 million.
This renovation was completed, and the space opened to the public just in time to commemorate the venue’s 50th anniversary. One of the special features that many will appreciate is its accessibility for everyone.
This revamped lower observation level, perched 113 stories above Toronto, offers breathtaking views of the city sprawled beneath it. The new glass floor, which is not for the faint of heart, is now open and ready to welcome visitors.
Now, introducing the centerpiece of this new space — the “Artmosphere.” What’s that? Imagine an entire wall covered by a giant interactive TV screen, showcasing high-definition animated images of original artworks by some of the finest Indigenous and other Canadian artists, each set against a dazzling array of colors and captivating forms and shapes. This, dear friends, is Artmosphere! The first of its kind, anywhere.
An introduction to the exhibit states that it is inspired by the atmosphere, cosmos, and the ever-evolving world of digital expression, blending traditional and digital art into one immersive galaxy.
The renovation was financed by the federal property management company Canada Lands, which owns the CN Tower, along with its shareholders.
So, now that you’re in the know, plan a trip to the CN Tower as soon as the snow melts and the family is ready for a day out!
