GTA Temperatures to Reach 20°C This Week After a Record-Breaking October
The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and surrounding regions are experiencing a few more days of unusually warm weather this mid-fall, according to The Weather Network.
Today (Monday), temperatures reached 18.3°C, with highs of 20°C and 21°C expected Tuesday and Wednesday, Environment Canada reported.
The Weather Network also noted that Toronto has not recorded any temperatures at or below freezing since May 3 of this year. Typically, the first freezing temperature of the season is anticipated around October 13. However, this year was different, with Toronto reaching temperatures between 26°C and 27.5°C, breaking a decades-old daily record.
The network forecast that much of Canada can expect warmer-than-normal conditions this fall, driven by a potentially historic El Niño event that may extend the season and delay the onset of winter.
