Vance likely to lead second round of Iran talks as ceasefire deadline looms

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (MNTV) – Vice President JD Vance is expected to lead a potential second round of negotiations with Iranian officials should talks resume before the two-week ceasefire expires next week, CNN reported Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The first round of direct talks was held in Islamabad over the weekend but ended without an agreement. Pakistan, which brokered the April 8 ceasefire that remains in place, is facilitating efforts to arrange a follow-up session.
President Donald Trump suggested Tuesday that talks could resume in Pakistan within the next two days.
Key sticking points remain unresolved.

Washington is also demanding the dismantling of Iran’s major nuclear enrichment facilities and the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has effectively kept closed since the war began on February 28.
With the ceasefire window narrowing, pressure is mounting on both sides to either reach a framework agreement or risk a return to hostilities.
