stc Bahrain launches second edition of ‘Jeel ICT’ program to empower national talent
Initiative aligns with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 to build a future-ready digital workforce
MANAMA, Bahrain (MNTV) — stc Bahrain has launched the second edition of its flagship ‘Jeel ICT’ program, selecting 20 Bahraini graduates for an intensive year-long training initiative aimed at developing the next generation of leaders in the ICT and FinTech sectors.
The 100% nationalized program is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Tamkeen, and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) as the strategic development partner, according to Tech Africa News.
It directly supports Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the government’s wider digital transformation strategy by equipping youth with advanced technical, business, and leadership skills essential for the country’s evolving economy.
Now recognized as one of Bahrain’s premier professional development platforms, the program evolved from stc Bahrain’s Graduate Development Program launched in 2012. This year, the selection process attracted more than 1,000 applicants, with only 200 shortlisted before the final 20 were chosen following a rigorous evaluation process.
Tamkeen Chief Executive HE Maha Abdulhamid Mufeez said the initiative supports the organization’s 2025 priorities, emphasizing the development of Bahraini talent and their competitiveness in private-sector roles.
“Our partnership with stc Bahrain ensures that national talents remain the first choice for employers, especially in high-growth sectors such as ICT,” she said.
stc Bahrain CEO Eng. Khalid Al Osaimi highlighted the program’s role in nurturing Bahrain’s youth as key contributors to the digital economy. “The Jeel ICT program helps shape a new generation of digital leaders while reinforcing our commitment to youth empowerment,” he said.
Over the next 12 months, participants will undergo 10,000 development hours, including 6,000 hours of coaching and mentoring, psychometric assessments, and specialized ICT training—preparing them to become central players in Bahrain’s growing technology landscape.
