Saudi data authority wins UN Public Service Award
Recognition honors Saudi digital platforms for advancing data sharing, AI-powered forecasting, and public-sector innovation
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) – The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has received the 2026 United Nations Public Service Award for its National Data Bank and Estishraf platforms, marking a major international achievement for the Kingdom’s digital transformation efforts.
The award was granted following a global competition that drew more than 700 submissions from 62 countries. The UN Public Service Award is regarded as the organization’s highest recognition for innovation and excellence in government services.
The distinction is awarded to initiatives that improve public-sector performance, strengthen institutional effectiveness and enhance services provided to citizens and stakeholders.
Saudi officials described the recognition as another milestone in the Kingdom’s growing influence in data and artificial intelligence, aligning with the country’s designation of 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence.
SDAIA said the achievement reflects continued leadership support for expanding the role of data and AI in national development and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position among technology-driven economies.
The National Data Bank serves as a key national platform designed to improve data quality and enable information sharing among government entities. The system supports digital economic growth, enhances the reliability of digital services and helps institutions make more informed decisions.
Meanwhile, the Estishraf platform uses advanced analytics and artificial intelligence tools to support strategic planning and policy development. By providing predictive insights, indicators and analytical assessments, it helps government agencies anticipate challenges and improve preparedness.
SDAIA is scheduled to receive the award during the official ceremony at the United Nations Public Service Forum in Tbilisi on June 25.
