Kuwait, Pakistan sign joint defense cooperation agreement
Defense chiefs sign pact in Islamabad to strengthen military coordination, expertise sharing and readiness
ISLAMABAD (MNTV) — Kuwait and Pakistan signed a joint defense and military cooperation agreement Thursday during a visit by Kuwait’s defense minister to Islamabad.
Kuwaiti Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif signed the agreement, according to a statement from Kuwait’s Defense Ministry.
The pact aims to strengthen “operational coordination, exchanging expertise, and raising the level of readiness and integration” between the armed forces of the two countries, the ministry said.
It described the agreement as an “important milestone” in bilateral defense cooperation, saying it would advance the shared interests of Kuwait and Pakistan and contribute to regional security.
The agreement comes as the two Muslim-majority countries seek to deepen defense ties and expand military cooperation.
