Saudi, Chinese forces conclude Blue Sword-4 naval drill
Joint maritime exercise in Jubail boosts operational coordination, strengthens combat readiness, and expands counterterrorism and mine warfare capabilities
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — The Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the Chinese Navy concluded the joint naval exercise Blue Sword-4 in Jubail, marking another step in advancing bilateral defense cooperation and maritime security coordination, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The large-scale drill included tactical exercises and field operations such as urban combat, naval patrols, ambushes, and hostage recovery missions.
Both sides also carried out underwater mine detection and disposal tasks, along with helicopter-based rope descent maneuvers and live-fire training with light and sniper weapons.
The exercise focused on enhancing interoperability and strengthening the combat efficiency of participating units through realistic operational scenarios.
It also emphasized collaboration in maritime counterterrorism, anti-piracy operations, mine clearance, and the neutralization of tactical unmanned aerial systems.
Officials noted that Blue Sword-4 aimed to exchange military expertise and deepen cooperation between Saudi and Chinese naval forces as part of ongoing efforts to promote regional stability and maritime readiness.
