Israeli strikes kill Palestinian woman and injure civilians
Deadly Gaza airstrike and separate West Bank incidents leave Palestinians injured as Israeli attacks and raids continue despite ceasefire commitments
GAZA CITY, Palestine (MNTV) — Israeli attacks killed a Palestinian woman in Gaza City and injured civilians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, underscoring the continuing danger faced by Palestinians despite a ceasefire in the besieged enclave.
According to Anadolu Agency, an Israeli airstrike hit a residential building in Gaza City’s Rimal neighborhood early Wednesday, killing 33-year-old Reem Asaad Awad and injuring two other people, including a girl.
The incidents occurred amid continued Israeli bombardment, gunfire and raids affecting Palestinian communities.
A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital told Anadolu Agency that Awad’s body and the injured were brought to the facility after the strike.
The attack extensively damaged the targeted apartment and neighboring buildings, while a large fire broke out before civil defense crews extinguished it.
Witnesses also reported heavy Israeli gunfire toward Palestinian homes in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of the city center.
Israeli military vehicles and quadcopter drones were involved, while explosive devices were dropped on Al-Sikka Street, according to the reports.
Elsewhere in the Gaza Strip, sources reported demolitions of residential buildings in areas where Israeli forces were deployed east of Gaza City.
Witnesses also described an incursion by Israeli vehicles and bulldozers beyond areas under Israeli control east of Deir al-Balah.
Gunfire struck homes along Salah al-Din Street east of Deir al-Balah, causing panic among residents, while Israeli artillery shelling hit areas northeast of the Bureij refugee camp.
An Israeli drone also dropped an explosive device on a tent, according to witnesses. No additional injuries were reported in those incidents.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said Israeli violations of the October 2025 ceasefire had killed at least 1,498 Palestinians and injured 5,306 others.
Anadolu, along with international news sources, also reported that more than 74,000 Palestinians had been killed and over 175,000 injured since October 2023, with approximately 90% of Gaza’s infrastructure damaged or destroyed.
In the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported four Palestinians injured in separate incidents involving Israeli forces on Tuesday.
One man was shot in the head with a rubber bullet during a raid in Kharbatha Bani Harith, west of Ramallah, and was transported to the hospital.
Three other Palestinians were hospitalized after an Israeli military jeep struck them in Al-Yamun, northwest of Jenin, the Red Crescent said. The incidents occurred amid continuing Israeli raids and confrontations across the occupied territory.
Israeli forces also raided eastern Jenin, entered a bakery and detained residents for questioning, according to Palestine’s official Voice of Palestine radio. Palestine TV reported that soldiers assaulted several young men during the operation.
Further south, Israeli police arrested a foreign pro-Palestinian activist in Khirbet Aqawis, in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron, according to local rights activist Osama Makhamra.
Israeli forces also detained five Israeli activists for several hours in nearby Khirbet al-Halawa before releasing them and confiscating their vehicle. Makhamra said the activists had been accused of entering an Israeli-designated military training zone.
The deaths, injuries and destruction reported in Gaza, alongside raids and physical assaults in the West Bank, demonstrate the continuing vulnerability of Palestinian civilians.
The attacks in Gaza also raise serious concerns about Israel’s compliance with the ceasefire and its obligations to protect civilians under international humanitarian law.
