Israel continues deadly Gaza attacks, continues ‘ceasefire’ violations

GAZA STRIP, Palestine (MNTV) — Israeli forces have killed several Palestinians in a series of attacks over two days in the Gaza Strip, exposing the fragility—and critics say the hypocrisy—of a so-called “ceasefire” that has been repeatedly violated by Israel.

Local officials reported that two brothers were killed when an Israeli drone strike hit Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, an area witnesses say lies outside zones designated for Israeli military activity under the truce framework. The attack underscores a pattern of strikes targeting civilians even in areas theoretically shielded from military operations.

Elsewhere, a nine-year-old child was fatally shot by Israeli forces in Gaza City’s Zeitoun district, while another man was killed in southern Gaza.

Additional civilians, including a teenager, were wounded when Israeli troops opened fire on residential areas and makeshift shelters housing displaced families—further evidence, according to rights observers, of indiscriminate use of force.

The following day saw more bloodshed, as Israeli gunfire killed two brothers transporting water in eastern Gaza City—an act emblematic of the deepening humanitarian catastrophe created by months of siege and bombardment.

A separate drone strike on a water desalination facility killed another civilian and injured several others, crippling already devastated civilian infrastructure essential for survival.

Gaza authorities say Israel has committed thousands of violations of the ceasefire agreement since it came into effect, including killings, arrests, and the continued blockade of humanitarian aid. The cumulative toll of Israel’s military campaign has now surpassed tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths, with hundreds more killed even after the ceasefire was announced.

International agencies have raised alarm over the disproportionate impact on women and children. Data indicates that dozens of women and girls were being killed daily during the peak of the conflict, with the trend continuing despite the supposed halt in hostilities—fueling accusations that the campaign amounts to systematic targeting of civilians.

Beyond Gaza, violence has intensified in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces and settlers have escalated attacks on Palestinian communities. Armed settlers reportedly torched vehicles and assaulted homes in areas south of Hebron, operating with what critics describe as impunity under the protection of Israeli military forces.

Israeli troops also carried out widespread raids across multiple towns, storming homes, making arrests, and detaining Palestinians without warrants under military laws imposed on the occupied population. These operations, often conducted overnight, have drawn condemnation for violating basic legal standards and human rights.

According to Palestinian advocacy groups, thousands of Palestinians remain imprisoned under harsh conditions, including many held without charge under administrative detention policies widely criticized by international observers.

United Nations experts have warned that the ongoing pattern of displacement, violence, and destruction in the West Bank—combined with relentless military pressure in Gaza—amounts to a broader campaign of forced demographic change.

Despite mounting evidence and international criticism, Israel continues its operations with strong political and military backing from the United States, raising questions about accountability and the viability of any lasting ceasefire.
