Annual gathering to focus on strengthening Muslim solidarity and addressing global challenges
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Iran announced that it will host the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference from September 6 to 10, 2025, coinciding with the Week of Unity, according to Mehr News.
The event will be held virtually, with opening sessions scheduled for September 8 featuring speeches by the President of Iran, the Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, and several prominent figures from across the Muslim world.
The conference aims to foster greater solidarity among Muslims, build consensus among scholars and intellectuals, and propose practical solutions to strengthen Islamic unity while addressing common challenges facing the global Muslim community.
Organizers said conference participants will include government ministers from Muslim countries, senior religious leaders, muftis, university professors, and cultural figures from both Iran and abroad.
Over the years, the gathering has brought together thousands of Shia and Sunni scholars from across Iran alongside hundreds of international thinkers and reformers.
Past sessions have drawn notable participation from scholars and Islamic thinkers representing countries such as France, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, and many others across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The conference, now in its 39th edition, continues to serve as one of the most important platforms for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and promotion of unity among diverse schools of Islamic thought.
