Iran showcases advanced plasma therapy systems

TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Iran unveiled its latest plasma therapy systems for medical applications on Thursday during the second Iranian Congress of Plasma Medicine at Shahid Rajaie Heart Hospital in Tehran, officials said.

The devices were launched in the presence of Mohammad Eslami, vice president and head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), along with senior officials from the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Health.

Among the unveiled technologies was a small-scale production line for plasma-activated media, designed to synthesize plasma-based drugs and facilitate clinical research. Officials highlighted the successful use of plasma-synthesized medications in treating patients with granulomatous mastitis.

Another major innovation presented at the congress was a new generation of artificial intelligence-based plasma jets for wound treatment. Officials said the technology allows for personalized therapy protocols and expands access to advanced clinical care.

The two-day congress, held Dec. 11–12 at the hospital’s Heart Hotel, focused on reducing treatment costs and promoting sustainable medical innovation.

Speaking at the event, Eslami emphasized the importance of technological self-reliance and resilience, stating: “A society that cannot create technology will be labelled backward.”

He also underscored Iran’s determination to continue scientific progress despite what he described as hostile actions against the country’s nuclear and industrial sectors.

“By the grace of God, despite industrial sabotage, assassinations, explosions, and countless political and psychological obstructions, we are here and we will not back down,” Eslami said.

“We will continue our path of progress more determinedly than before, with God’s special grace and the efforts of our colleagues.”
