Iran retaliates with wave of missiles as senior military officer killed in Israeli air attack

TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has launched a new round of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli military sites, including Ben Gurion Airport, amid escalating hostilities between the two countries.

In a statement issued early Saturday, the IRGC said it launched the 18th phase of its “True Promise Operation 3,” deploying a combination of Shahed-136 suicide and combat drones along with precision-guided solid- and liquid-fuel missiles, according to Mehr News Agency.

The IRGC claimed that predetermined targets, including operational logistics hubs and facilities at Ben Gurion Airport, were successfully hit during the strike.

Israeli media reported that six of the ten missiles launched by Iran struck their intended targets.

The latest exchange adds to a series of retaliatory operations between the two sides, as tensions over regional security and military engagement continue to mount.

Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed that Saeed Izadi, the head of the Quds Force’s Palestine division within the IRGC, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian city of Qom.

The announcement was reported by The Times of Israel, though Iranian authorities have yet to confirm the death of the commander.

Izadi was a senior figure within the Quds Force, the external operations arm of the IRGC, which coordinates Iran’s regional engagement strategies.

The ongoing conflict has raised concerns among international observers about the potential for further escalation, particularly amid diplomatic efforts led by regional and global powers to de-escalate the crisis.

The situation remains fluid, with further developments expected in the coming days as both nations weigh their next steps.
