Egypt’s engineering exports hit new milestone in 2025
Sector posts broad-based gains as key markets drive higher demand and companies expand product lines worldwide
CAIRO, Egypt (MNTV) — Egypt’s engineering exports rose sharply in the first ten months of 2025, reaching $5.33 billion, a 12.4 percent increase from the $4.75 billion recorded during the same period last year, according to new data from the Engineering Export Council of Egypt.
The council reported that October delivered a particularly strong boost, with monthly exports rising 17.7 percent to $591 million compared with $502 million in October 2024.
Officials said the momentum was supported by robust demand across European, Arab, Asian, and African markets.
EECE Chairperson Sherif El-Sayed said the continued upward trend reflects the industry’s growing competitiveness, noting that Egyptian manufacturers have expanded their product range while improving quality in line with international standards.
He highlighted that electrical and electronic products led growth with a 35.3 percent surge, followed by machinery and equipment at 22.2 percent.
Transportation products increased 15.3 percent, auto parts 11.6 percent, home appliances 9.4 percent, and cables 2.9 percent, indicating broad gains across the sector.
El-Sayed added that Egypt’s success in penetrating diverse markets underscores the strength of the export networks the council has been developing.
He said EECE will continue to support companies through trade missions, international exhibitions, and technical training programs aimed at sustaining growth into 2026.
EECE Executive Director Mai Helmy said the council is executing an intensive promotional agenda in the final quarter of the year, focusing on markets with strong demand for Egyptian engineering products, especially in Europe and Africa.
She said the active participation of companies in these initiatives reflects their interest in accessing new markets and increasing export volumes.
Helmy added that the council is also working to broaden the benefits of government export-support programs and strengthen communication with international importers.
She noted that the coming period will include new initiatives to improve companies’ export readiness, along with ongoing technical and marketing support to boost the global competitiveness of Egyptian engineering products.
