Israeli raids detain nine Palestinians in West Bank
Occupation forces continue arrests and settler attacks as UN warns of escalating violations against Palestinians
JERUSALEM, Palestine (MNTV) — Israeli occupation forces detained nine Palestinians during a series of raids across the occupied West Bank, as military operations and settler violence against Palestinian communities continued to intensify.
According to Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli troops stormed several neighborhoods in Nablus and carried out raids in the towns of Azzun and Jiyous near Qalqilya, arresting nine Palestinians during the operations.
The arrests were part of ongoing Israeli military incursions that rights groups say have become a routine tool of repression against Palestinians living under occupation, involving frequent raids, detentions and restrictions on civilian life.
In a separate incident, Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian family in the town of Al-Taybeh, east of Ramallah, and reportedly cut electricity and water supplies to the area, further disrupting daily life for residents already facing mounting pressures under occupation.
The latest incidents followed another wave of Israeli raids on Wednesday in which four Palestinians were injured and five others detained. Those operations also coincided with attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinian communities in the occupied territory.
Human rights organizations have repeatedly warned of growing cooperation between Israeli security forces and extremist settler groups, accusing Israeli authorities of failing to prevent attacks on Palestinians or hold perpetrators accountable.
Earlier on Thursday, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres warned of a rise in violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians, including attacks affecting Palestinian children.
Guterres said some settler groups could face inclusion on a global UN blacklist for alleged violations against children, reflecting growing international concern over escalating abuses in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The continuing arrests, military raids and settler attacks have deepened fears among Palestinians that Israel’s occupation policies are further entrenching insecurity, displacement and collective punishment across the West Bank.
