Venezuela interested in science and technology cooperation with Iran
Venezuelan officials highlight successful joint projects and ongoing collaboration in biotechnology, nanotechnology, and education sectors
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Venezuela has expressed keen interest in expanding its cooperation with Iranian researchers in science and technology, with several collaborative projects already yielding positive results.
Deputy minister for Science and Technology of Venezuela, Alberto Quintero, stated that Venezuela is particularly eager to strengthen ties with Iranian researchers across various sectors, including biotechnology, nanotechnology, and education.
Quintero highlighted that a team of eight Venezuelan experts visited Iran in 2024 for training and educational purposes.
He added that the collaboration between the two nations has led to the development of a probiotic product in Venezuela, a project resulting from joint efforts between Venezuelan and Iranian researchers.
Earlier, Iranian Minister of Defense Brigadier General Nasirzadeh held discussions with Venezuela’s Minister of Science and Technology Gabriela Jimenez in Caracas.
The talks focused on expanding cooperation in technical fields, knowledge transfer, and fostering academic exchanges, including the exchange of university students and lecturers.
The discussions also touched on modern technologies such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, and geological and cartographical advancements, emphasizing the growing strategic partnership between the two nations in these fields.
