UAE to build 8-exaflop AI supercomputer in India
Project to boost India's AI capacity announced at summit in New Delhi
ABU DHABI, UAE (MNTV) — Abu Dhabi will establish a national-scale artificial intelligence (AI) supercomputer in India with a computing capacity of 8 exaflops, officials announced on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit 2026.
The initiative marks a major step in strengthening India’s AI infrastructure and collaboration with the UAE.
The system will be delivered by Abu Dhabi-based technology firm G42 and US company Cerebras, with involvement from the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) and India’s Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).
The 8-exaflop machine can perform eight quintillion calculations per second, enabling advanced AI model training and research.
The supercomputer will be hosted in India under frameworks defined by Indian authorities, ensuring all data remains within national jurisdiction.
The project follows strengthened ties after the fifth India-UAE Strategic Dialogue in December 2025 and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to India in January 2026.
