Turkish Airlines carries 51.2M passengers in 7 months, up 4.7%
Flag carrier posts strong growth in passenger traffic, cargo volume, and load factor
ISTANBUL, Türkiye (MNTV) — Turkish Airlines (THY) transported 51.2 million passengers in the first seven months of 2025, marking a 4.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year, the company announced in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
The airline achieved an overall load factor of 82.1 percent between January and July, up 0.6 percentage points year-on-year.
International-to-international transfer passengers rose 9 percent to 19.6 million during the period. The international load factor stood at 81.7 percent, while the domestic load factor reached 85.6 percent.
Available seat kilometers climbed 6.1 percent to 153.9 billion from 145.1 billion a year earlier. Cargo and mail volume also increased by 4.4 percent, totaling 1.21 million tons in the seven-month period. As of the end of July, THY’s fleet comprised 491 aircraft.
In July alone, passenger numbers jumped 8.4 percent year-on-year to 9 million, with transfer passengers surging 12.8 percent to 3.3 million.
The monthly load factor rose to 85.4 percent, with domestic flights at 90.6 percent and international at 84.8 percent. Available seat kilometers grew 8.7 percent to 25 billion, while cargo and mail volumes rose 11.2 percent to 191,100 tons.
