Israeli strike kills Gaza security chief despite ceasefire
Interior Ministry says head of central Gaza's Internal Security Directorate and another officer were killed when their vehicle was hit in Deir al-Balah
GAZA (MNTV) — An Israeli airstrike killed the head of the Internal Security Directorate in central Gaza and another officer on Sunday, striking their vehicle in Deir al-Balah, the territory’s Interior Ministry said.
The ministry identified the two as Col. Wael Mousa al-Ladawi, 44, and Maj. Ramez Tawfiq Abu Zureiq, 49, and said they were traveling through Deir al-Balah when an Israeli aircraft hit their vehicle.
The attack came despite the ceasefire in effect in Gaza since Oct. 10, 2025 — one of many Israeli strikes that have continued to kill Palestinians across the territory since the truce began.
