Trump turns to AI fantasy as US-Israeli war on Iran and political troubles deepen
As pressure mounts over US-Israeli war on Iran and his approval ratings decline, Trump is using AI-generated images to portray himself alongside American founders and military legends
WASHINGTON (MNTV) – As the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran drags on and his approval ratings fall, President Donald Trump is increasingly using AI-generated images on Truth Social to shape a heroic version of his presidency.
Trump has recently posted a series of fabricated images portraying himself alongside George Washington, including scenes inside his planned White House ballroom. The images depict Trump and the first U.S. president together as if they were historical counterparts, reinforcing an increasingly personal approach to presidential image-making.
The posts come as Trump faces difficult questions over the war with Iran, negotiations with Tehran and reports of poor conditions and declining morale aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln after its extended deployment.
Rather than allowing those controversies to dominate the political conversation, Trump has repeatedly returned to his preferred platform, using highly polished AI imagery to project strength, grandeur and historical importance.
Media watchdog Angelo Carusone said the images appear to reflect Trump’s desire to portray himself as a founding figure. AI technology allows him to turn that political self-image into visual propaganda and distribute it directly to his supporters.
The strategy extends beyond Washington. Trump has also shared AI-generated imagery of himself in a military uniform alongside World War II generals George Patton and Douglas MacArthur. The image places Trump on a battlefield surrounded by burning tanks and gives him an exaggerated display of military medals.
The imagery fits into a broader effort to construct a presidential legacy around power, military leadership and monumental projects. Trump has repeatedly described his proposed White House ballroom as a legacy project, making it a recurring feature of his public messaging.
Critics argue that the pattern reveals a president increasingly focused on controlling his historical image while confronting serious political problems in the present.
The contrast is striking. While Trump faces questions about an unresolved war, military conditions and declining public approval, his social media output increasingly presents an alternative reality in which he stands beside the founders and legendary American commanders.
The result is a presidency where political communication increasingly blurs the line between reality and digital fantasy, with AI providing Trump an unusually powerful tool for rewriting his own image in real time.
