Qatar’s Mada empowers children with disabilities through AI summer camp
Initiative trains over 40 participants on programming, teamwork, and digital innovation
DOHA, Qatar (MNTV) — The Assistive Technology Center Qatar (Mada) has concluded its 2025 Summer Camp, an initiative designed to introduce children with disabilities to programming, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Held throughout July and August, the camp welcomed more than 40 participants aged 10 to 15 with different disabilities, according to Qatar Tribune.
The program combined education and entertainment, creating an inclusive learning environment where participants not only acquired technical skills but also improved teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
One of the standout features was the introduction of the “UGOT City Guardian,” an inclusive learning tool consisting of vehicle-shaped robots. Children assembled, programmed, and raced the robots, turning lessons into engaging, hands-on experiences.
Khalifa Al Mutlaq, media and publications officer at Mada, said the initiative reflects the center’s dedication to empowering children with disabilities by giving them access to cutting-edge educational opportunities.
“This year, we focused on integrating programming, robotics, and AI to build creativity, confidence, and skills that enable participants to contribute to a digital and inclusive society,” he stated.
Mada emphasized that the camp is part of its wider mission to strengthen its role as a global Center of Excellence in digital accessibility in Arabic, while equipping persons with disabilities with the tools and confidence to play a full role in the digital future.
